A long list of tragedies. JFK was such a shining light to us early baby-boomers. I was a senior in high-school, wearing bloomers in gym class. I can still remember the sound of the principal’s voice as he made the announcement over the address system. I began to cry, everyone began to cry including our teacher, Mrs. Hager. We all went to the assembly hall. Even the boys, teachers, and vice-principal were in a state of shock, crying, hugging. We were sent home. The next few days passed as if in a dream. I remember the sounds, the clops of the horses’ hooves. So somber. I will never completely recover from the loss of JFK, and believe his assassination shaped an entire generation. Thank you, Ms. Perry, for telling the story of the Kennedys in such a factual, forthright manner. Dolly Prenzel, Nashville, TN

Thank you for your heartfelt reflections of some very personal moments with the Kennedy family. This adds so much texture and meaning to my understanding and admiration for this family.
